Martyn Brocklesby is the Contracts Director at Geotechnical Engineering Limited and current Chair of the British Drilling Association (BDA).
A qualified Geologist, Martyn’s career in the UK ground investigation sector commenced in 1992, when he began working for a major contractor as an engineering geologist. Since then, his career has developed through roles as a site agent, project manager, department manager and on to company director. Martyn is currently responsible for a team of ten contract managers, who each look after a portfolio of projects, which range widely in value and complexity.
In 2001, Martyn was elected a member of the British Drilling Association. Since 2001, he has worked actively on the Management Committee, chaired the Working Group responsible for the update of the BDA Contaminated Land Guidance document (which is currently under review and update again) and headed the team that developed the Association’s new BDA website. He is also a member of the Finance & Strategic Planning sub-committee and worked to develop the Quality Matters presentation and the Association’s Strategic Plan.
